Basically, a cooperative home has the same status as an owned home, a single-family house or similar type of real estate. The main difference is that the ownership is organized in a corporate form. Therefore, there are elements of both real estate and company law in the legislation around cooperative housing.
We have experience in advising on both the establishment and operation of cooperative housing associations, including revision of articles of association. We have furthermore conducted a large number of lawsuits for cooperative housing associations. We are experts in advising on associations’ financing conditions and to reconstruct cooperative housing associations that are in financial need.
For owners’ associations, there are many tasks that can be solved only by the community, for example construction tasks that relate to common property, but it may also relate to neighboring cases where the owners internally disagree on e.g. operation, utilization of areas, etc.
We have experience in conducting lawsuits for owner associations and with revision of articles of association, etc.
We also have special experience in establishing penthouses in the condominium property. Therefore, we know of all the challenges in the area, both in concluding agreements and in relation to the registration of the new square meters.
Finn Träff are responsible for our cases within cooperative housing and owners associations.
